Please note the cost of field trips (including travel and basic subsistence) is included in your tuition fee.
Enhanced learning credits
Members of the Armed Forces can use enhanced learning credits to offset the cost of the MA Applied Security Strategy. The University of Exeter is approved by the Ministry of Defence as a provider for the scheme which promotes life long learning.
Innovation Scholarships

Please note that the class size for this MA is restricted and that the programme may close for applications before 30 June if all places are filled earlier.
All students selected to become a member of our Innovation Scholarship Programme for the academic year 2013/2014 will receive a £5,500 scholarship. Candidates in receipt of these scholarships will be helping us break new ground in the way degree programmes are taught and assessed. Scholarship holders will act not just as students, but critical friends and collaborators, pushing us to excel and telling us where we need to improve. We’ll ask you to participate in two marketing activities, provide ongoing constructive feedback on the programme and to attend a maximum of two focus groups.
You do not need to apply for these scholarships. All candidates who have applied for a place and have been made an offer for 2013/14 will automatically receive an Innovation Scholarship in the form of a partial fee waiver. We strongly advise you to to apply for a place as early as possible however, as places on the programme are limited.
Innovation scholars will pay tuition fees of £7,000 (home) and £13,500 (international) instead of the full fees listed in the table above.
Excellence Scholarships
Deadline: 28 February 2013
Full fee scholarships will be awarded to those candidates who excel during our selection process. They will be awarded to those individuals who have demonstrated through their application, selection test and possible interview, that they have the academic ability, potential talent and expertise, to thrive on the programme and progress to future leadership roles. You will only become eligible for an Excellence Scholarship if you have applied to the MA Applied Security Strategy before 28 February 2013 and received an offer of a place for 2013/2014. We will send you details of the scholarship selection process once you have received your offer. Both home and international students will be eligible to apply for an Excellence Scholarship which will be given in the form of a full tuition fee waiver.
Professional Scholarships
Full fee scholarships will be awarded to exceptional individuals identified as potential future leaders and strategists within specific partner organisations. The application and selection process for these awards are restricted to current employees of selected partners. Information about these scholarships will be made available in due course.
