One  project is looking at application to and early days at the University

Securing our Global 100 position

In recent years, the University has experienced a period of unprecedented success; achieving UK top 10 status, joining the Russell Group of leading research-led universities in the UK and securing our position in the top 1% of universities worldwide. We are in a strong position but it is essential that we secure this position through investing in our education and research; for example through employing more academic staff and improving our facilities.

In order to generate the investment needed, we are undergoing a transformation programme made up of a number of projects. These projects aim to ensure that we are working in the most efficient way and to generate new sources of revenue.

One project is looking to improve the way we recruit students to the University and we are working with the Elected Sabbatical Officers of the Students’ Guild and FXU to identify the journey of a potential student from choosing a University, through to applying and then arriving in their first term including what it feels like now, what their needs are and how we can best help fulfil their needs. We will then work together to use this information to improve the experience of choosing and applying to the University.

The Transformation Programme is already underway, due to be completed in the summer of 2017. We are working very closely with the Guild and FXU to ensure that the student voice is heard and that any changes we make do not adversely affect your experience at the University. Should you encounter any issues, please get in touch by email.
