Forum Opening - Services and Facilities reminder

Dear Student

Just a reminder that from tomorrow a number of services that were located across the Streatham Campus will instead be found within the Forum.

We expect the Forum to open for students and staff at about 3pm on Wednesday 2 May after the Royal visit has concluded. The first full day of operation will be Thursday 3 May from 8am.

More details about the services that are moving to the Forum can be found below.

Student Services:

A wide range of student services are being brought together within the new Student Services Centre, which will be located on Level 0 near the North entrance.

This provides a single gateway to the following services:

AccessAbility and the Access Centre; Accommodation; Chaplaincy; Exams; Graduation; International Student Support; IT Helpdesk Counter; Student Finance; Student Information Desk; Study Skills Support; Wellbeing.

It also includes the Student Information Desk, which offers friendly, professional and efficient support and guidance, and Career Zone which provides information on graduate opportunities, volunteering, enterprise and self employment.

The Queen’s Drive shops:

From 3 May The Guild Print Shop, NatWest and the Premier Shop will no longer operate from the temporary units on the Queen’s Drive car park. NatWest will operate from a new position near the South entrance to the Forum, while the Market Place will be the largest shop on campus and will include a Royal Mail parcel service, dry cleaning and an online book retail service provided by Blackwell’s.

The Guild Print Room will be located on the Mezzanine floor, near to both the Students’ Guild Advice Unit and Info Point.

Library:

The main public entrance to the Library will be from inside the Forum. We anticipate that the current, temporary entrance at the bottom of Stocker Road will close from mid-afternoon on 2 May.

We do hope that you will be able to join in the celebrations tomorrow, if possible. However please come along on Thursday and discover for yourself the wide range of services and amenities that the Forum has to offer. We’re sure you will be delighted.

Best wishes

Date: 1 May 2012
