More than 120 students took part in the event in the Career Zone
Career Zone hosts first ever Ernst & Young Live event
Multinational professional services firm Ernst & Young chose the University of Exeter to host their first ‘EY Live’ event. More than 120 students took part in the event in the Career Zone – the first large scale employer event in the new Student Services Centre in the Forum.
Ernst & Young used the space to create an interactive presentation and networking event consisting of several small employability pods. The aim of the evening was to give students a real insight into life at the company through meeting current interns and employees. Students were then able to ask them questions about the company whilst showing their current skills during a variety of tasks.
Natalie Horlock, Employer Liaison Officer at the University of Exeter, said: “I was delighted when Ernst & Young chose to open their EY Live tour at Exeter. By holding the event in the Career Zone we have been able to showcase the unique facilities we can offer graduate recruiters seeking to engage with our students. It was a great success for Ernst & Young, the students and the Employability and Graduate Development team, and got the autumn term’s employer recruitment activity off to a flying start.”
Michelle Cowdrey, Graduate Recruitment Officer at Ernst & Young, said: “We were very pleased with our first EY Live event at the University of Exeter’s Career Zone. Student engagement was outstanding once again and staff made sure the event ran smoothly. The Career Zone was perfect for our event. It’s clear students are benefiting from having a central employability hub.”
The UK’s leading employers are expecting to increase their graduate recruitment by 6.4% in 2012. An exciting range of companies are coming to the University of Exeter’s campuses in Exeter and Cornwall, keen to attract Exeter students to their placement and graduate schemes. These include Mars, Danone, HSBC, Estée Lauder, Bank of England, Lloyd’s of London, Glaxosmithkline, The Co-operative and Diageo. Students are advised to keep checking My Career Zone for up-to-date information about employers on campus.
