The Postgraduate Study Fair is on Wed 21 November, 1 -3pm in the Street, Forum, Streatham Campus.
Postgraduate study showcased at Fair
A postgraduate study fair on Wednesday 21 November will profile the range of taught Masters and research degree options available at the University of Exeter.
The Fair is open to anyone interested in postgraduate study at Exeter. Staff from Colleges will be available to discuss options and there will be information on how to apply and potential funding sources, including the University of Exeter Progression Scholarship which helps to offset the cost of tuition fees.
The Postgraduate Study Fair is on Wednesday 21st November, 1 -3pm in the Street, Forum, Streatham Campus.
A free coach will be made available from the Cornwall Campus to take current Exeter and University College Falmouth students to the Fair. To book a place, email Becky Euesden.
There are currently more than 4,300 postgraduate students at the University of Exeter; around one-third of these are international students. The University offers over 120 taught postgraduate programmes and numerous research degree opportunities. The majority of our taught postgraduate progammes are Masters degrees. These normally combine advanced level tuition with the completion of a dissertation. Many of our taught degrees follow a flexible modular format whereby students choose from a range of specialist pathways or combine modules from a range of areas of interest. We offer the Master of Arts (MA), Master of Science (MSc) and the Master of Research (MRes) degrees. The MRes degree combines subject-specific tuition with advanced-level training in methodological, analytic and research skills, particularly suited if considering a PhD. Also on offer are other specialist taught postgraduate degrees such as the Master of Laws (LLM) and the PGCE.
Professor Stephen Rippon, Dean of the Faculty of Graduate Research at the University of Exeter, says: “There are up to 70 graduates are chasing every graduate job, so a postgraduate degree can help applicants stand out from the crowd. Postgraduates are more likely to be in managerial or professional roles. Current University of Exeter students are particularly welcome to apply, and there is a quick and easy application system and special funds available to them.”
A range of funding is available to support postgraduate students, including the University of Exeter Progression Scholarship and PhD studentships. In 2011, over 550 Masters applicants received some form of scholarship.
