Welcome week for freshers

New students move into their university accommodation the week before term starts, with online and on-campus events to introduce you to all aspects of university life. This is your opportunity to get to know your surroundings, learn more about your course and what’s involved in studying, find out about the many societies and sports on offer, discover our support services, and to meet and make new friends.

Make sure you complete the essential tasks in when you arrive.

Collect your UniCard Your UniCard is vital, it gives you access to buildings and identifies you as a member of the University of Exeter.
Academic Induction See your personal timetable on iExeter for information about your academic induction.
Society, Sports, Arts and Culture introduction More information and a full list of events on the Students' Guild and Students' Union websites.
Complete your Library induction

Complete the online induction to Library Services to learn about the resources and support available. Engaging with the library early on will help you to develop the skills you need to succeed. If you have any questions contact the library.

You must receive written permission from Admissions if your arrival date is after the first date of your course. Arriving later may mean that you miss out on Freshers’ Week activities, academic induction and social sessions. Read our arrivals section for more information on arriving outside of freshers week.

If you arrive at Exeter based campuses after Freshers' Week please book onto one of our Late Arrivals Orientation Meetings with a member of staff. These are running every Wednesday from 22 September through to 8 December. Bookings close 24 hours before each meeting. 

Arrivals weekend (10-13 September) is the beginning of Freshers’ Week and is an exciting time to move into your accommodation and start meeting your flat mates. At Streatham Campus we invite all students, families and friends to join us at our Welcome Festival in the Forum piazza where you can meet our support services including our Residence Life Team, Security, Sport, and Sustainability as well as grab a coffee, enjoy some food and take a tour of the campus.
