Writing Cafés

What is Writing Café?

Writing Café is an informal, relaxed study space for all students where you can gain advice and guidance on any aspect of your written work, revision and exam strategies, time management skills or simply drop in to meet the Study Zone team. You are welcome to stay for the duration of the session or just stay for a short while.

How does it work?

When you arrive, you will enter the main meeting space where there will be at least one member of the Study Zone team and there may be other students. This is a social space and provides the café aspect of the session. You are welcome to grab a drink, have a chat and stay in this space for as long as suits you, even if you don't wish to discuss any work. Writing Cafés that run on campus will take place in the Study Zone space in the Forum, Streatham Campus, and online Writing Cafés will be on Microsoft Teams.

If you wish to speak privately about your work in an online Writing Café, we will open a breakout room for you to use with an Academic Skills Adviser.

These are drop in sessions, so no need to book!

How can I attend?

Writing Café starts in Week 1, Term 1 of the academic year 2021/22 and runs every week. Find out more on Study Zone Digital.
