Raniah

What have you been doing since leaving Exeter?

I joined multiple internships then started working as credit officer for SMEs clients at liwwa Inc. I have recently been promoted as Acting Credit Manager.

Why did you choose this career?

I chose this career as it needs analytical skills in addition to decision making, which I like. I can use the knowledge and skills acquired during my studies to implement and develop through this career.

What did you enjoy most about your programme and what was the biggest highlight?

The practical dissertation part was the most enjoyable part for me as it gave me the opprtunity to work on real life cases, analyse these and do forecasting and valuation.  This gave a practical backgound to everything I learnt on the course.

What did you enjoy most about studying here?

Everything. The city, the campus, the availablity of resources at the library, etc.

Why did you choose to study at Exeter?

Firstly it is one of the top UK universities, secondly is my interest in the programme, and finally the University's location as I know some relatives and friends who studied at Exeter previously and could gave me ideas and advice about the city.

What skills and experiences have been most useful for your career?

Analytical skills and strategic thinking. Living abroad alone for the first time in my life taught me a lot of things and made me stronger.

What advice would you give to a current student who wishes to pursue your career?

I would encourage them to focus on their study from the first day they are joining the University.

What are your plans for the future?

Continue learning by getting professional certificates and I might do another MSc degree in the future.

Please see Raniah career blog for more details on how to use your Finance degree in your career.
