Why did you decide that Exeter was the best place to study your particular subject?

I searched online for a ranking of all the schools in the UK for Biosciences specifically, and I noticed that Exeter came up on a few of the ones I looked at. So I went on the university’s website and I explored the Biosciences subject website. The program seemed to have everything I wanted: highly ranked professors, an amazing teaching lab, and tons of research opportunities for students. I scheduled a campus visit and requested to see the Biosciences building. After seeing the building, I knew it was the best place to learn biology. The labs are excellent, the resources are amazing, and there is state-of-the-art technology. The lecturers that I met were all very kind and very dedicated to their subjects, which indicated to me that this was the place to be for biology.

Would you recommend Exeter to your friends?

I would definitely recommend Exeter to my friends because I love it so much. Within the 3 months that I have been living here, I already feel that I belong. Between the friendliness on campus and the tight-knit community in town, I love how welcoming this city has been to me, an international student. My course has been amazing so far, too. I have been able to go straight into what I want to study, instead of having to have a year where I would have to take a variety of humanities courses which I would have at many universities in the U.S. Being in Devon is also a great bonus because you get the perks of being in an amazing area of the country. You get the gorgeous coasts and beaches and calm countryside, but also have the opportunity to go experience the big, bustling cities like London or Bristol for a weekend.
