City of London Bursary
Open to 1st and 2nd year students of all degree programmes at the Cornwall Campus who have completed their secondary education in Cornwall. The Fund aims to help young people in FE/HE who are in danger of being held back by personal or family hardship, or disability, and is worth £1,500 to the successful applicant. It was set up when Sir David Brewer was Lord Mayor of London, and is part of the Lord Lieutenant's Fund for Youth in Cornwall. There are strict eligibility criteria:
- You must have been resident in Cornwall for some considerable time
- Under 25 years of age
- You must have applied to University for a bursary and either have a shortfall or have been unsuccessful
- You must be able to demonstrate evidence of financial hardship
- You will be expected to fill in an application form and give a detailed report (2 sides of A4 approx) supporting your case, plus a reference from a Lecturer or Tutor
Completed applications are to be submitted to ASU Finance from April each year, decisions on eligibility are made in October/November.
