The University of Exeter is committed to providing equality of opportunity to applicants from all economic backgrounds and to minimising financial obstacles to higher education. Our bursaries are in addition to the maintenance grant that is awarded by the Government.

Students who started their course prior to 2010/11

Your Bursary in 2010/11

The Government has frozen its maintenance grant and loan package for 2010 cohort students so these are the same as those students who started University in 2009.

If you started your course at Exeter prior to 2009/10, you will continue to receive the same level of bursary support, subject to any changes in your financial assessment. All students who qualify through this means test to receive the full Maintenance Grant will receive the minimum standard bursary of £319. Additional support will be allocated to students who are from households with incomes of less than £45,000 per year for students who started their course in 2008/09 and £39,333 for those who started their course prior to 2008/9.

The total value of the bursary award will depend on your year of entry, with the highest level of bursaries being awarded to those with the lowest family income (i.e. less than £18,360). Please be aware that the level of bursary you received in 2008/9 may be subject to change due to any alteration of your household income and to changes to the income thresholds used in the calculation of student support.
