Entrance Scholarships

The University invites applications for the Scholarships listed below from candidates who reside in Cornwall or Devon and who are offered an undergraduate place at the University (Exeter and Cornwall campuses) through UCAS during the 2011/12 application cycle for degrees commencing in October 2012.

The Farringdon House School Charitable Trust

University of Exeter Scholarship for 2012

A scholarship of £2,100 per annum, payable by instalments of £700 per term, is available to new students under the age of 19 enrolling at the University in October 2012. Applications will be considered from students applying for any degree subject who are ordinarily resident in the County of Devon prior to enrolment.

Applicants applying for deferred entry onto degree programmes commencing in October 2013 can submit an application during their GAP year post confirmation of a place in summer 2012, i.e. from October 2012 onwards until the prescribed deadline for the 2013 entry scheme (date to be confirmed).

Awards are made for one year initially and are renewed annually to a maximum of nine terms (three academic years) subject to satisfactory academic progress at the University. No awards can be made once the applicant has reached the age of 21.

How to apply

The attached Trust Application form will need to be completed and returned to the address listed, detailing relevant academic qualifications and parental income together with a copy of the UCAS application form. This grant application form will need to be completed and signed by a parent (or legal guardian) for verification purposes. Further particulars of the Trust can be found on the Farringdon House Trust website.

The initial selection and notification process will be undertaken before applicants are required to confirm their firm choice options via UCAS in early May. Conferral of the award is therefore conditional upon selecting the University as Firm choice institution and the outcome of examination results in August (if applicable).

The deadline for completion and return of application forms is the 10th February 2012.
