Car parking charges are ring-fenced, once operational costs have been met, and reinvested in sustainable travelTravelling by Car
The University has a private carsharing group through carsharedevon for staff and students – a free and easy way to save money and help cut congestion.
In addition, the University has launched a new car leasing scheme. The Scheme is being introduced with two aims in mind. It provides a way for employees to drive a new car without having to fund the costs of a capital purchase; and, recognising that for many employees there is no practical alternative to commuting by car, it contributes to the University’s sustainable travel plan by encouraging staff to drive energy efficient vehicles – only cars which emit less than 140 grams of CO2 per kilometre will be available through the scheme.
Reduced Parking Charges - From September 2009, the drivers of energy efficient cars will, of course, also benefit from reduced parking charges on the Exeter Campuses. For example, the driver of the VW Polo Blue Motion (which emits just 99 grams of CO2 per kilometre) will be able to purchase an annual parking permit for just £65.
