Students receive their Exeter Award boosting their employability
Pressing global sustainability challenges require urgent response through innovation in technologies, business and social organisation in order to mitigate against challenging effects.
As jobs in the green sector become more popular and competitive, the ability for graduates to stand out from the crowd becomes essential. The University recognises the opportunities that the emerging ‘Green Economy’ offers to our graduates, and takes steps to offer individuals the tools they require to pursue a career in this exciting area.
Under the Enhanced Modularity Scheme, students have the option to take a SUSTAINability module that may compliment their programme of study and give it a relevant sustainability focus to take to their careers.
The Exeter Award is an achievement award for current undergraduate and taught postgraduate students at the University of Exeter offering employability boosting activities including:
- Attendance at skills sessions and training courses organised by the University of Exeter
- Facilitating sporting and musical activities
- Engagement in work experience and voluntary work
Work experience, often voluntary, can be hugely important both for developing contacts and gaining experience. See the Opportunities section to find out about volunteering openings with the Sustainability Team which could be valuable to your career planning and progression. We offer students a wide range of volunteering opportunities from helping out at biodiversity events on Campus to becoming IEMA-recognised Green Impact Auditors.
