Year 10 & 12 Annual Conference Series

For the first time in 2019-20 we will be offering a series of 5 one day conferences for mixed Year 10 and 12 groups, each one themed and offering a snapshot of a wide range of courses. All of these conferences will have attendees from a wide range of schools, and will allow students to participate in interactive sessions and workshops designed to showcase the diversity of subjects available at university level. Large groups are welcome, and there are no restrictions on how many of the conferences you attend.

We can provide £150 towards travel costs for eligible schools in the south west (Cornwall, Devon, Somerset, Dorset and Bristol) and £300 for schools outside. There will be a cap of 8 bursaries available per event on a first come first served basis.

The themed days are as follows:

Humanities, Business, & Social Sciences

Friday 27th March 2020, University of Exeter Penryn Campus

It is now more important than ever for students to have an inquiring mind to help navigate the modern world. This event is designed to aid your Year 10 and Year 12 students in developing this skill. The conference will offer some interactive sessions alongside taster lectures in History, Law, Politics, and Business. Your students will also be able to explore our coastal campus and meet current students to gain a flavour of university life.

Ology Day

Friday 20th March 2020, University of Exeter Streatham Campus

Ology Day offers an exciting opportunity for Year 10 and Year 12 students to experience taster sessions of subjects that may be new to them, and could end up being exactly what they want to study at university level. We are inviting the students to explore ‘Ology’ disciplines, such as Anthropology, Archaeology, Criminology, Psychology, Sociology and Theology. This is an excellent programme for students who are very interested in humanity and in thinking about what makes us human. The day will consist of academic taster sessions and will also include a campus tour and a Q&A.
