Undergraduate 2011 Confirmation, Adjustment and Clearing
Confirming your place at the University of Exeter
What happens at Confirmation?
Confirmation takes place following the release of summer examination results. If you have taken GCE A level/AS examinations you will receive your results on Thursday 18 August 2011. If you have taken other examinations such as the International Baccalaureate Diploma, you may receive your results from July onwards.
Confirmation letters (AS12) are sent when Higher Education Institutions have received examination results and confirmed to UCAS that the results are acceptable at your Firm and/or Insurance choices.
If you have not received your confirmation letter from UCAS by Thursday 18 August this does not necessarily mean that you have been unsuccessful – we may not have been able to make a decision in time for UCAS to send a letter or the postal service may have been delayed. You can also view your status by accessing UCAS Track. UCAS Track updates will be available by 8:00am on Thursday 18 August.
If you receive a confirmation letter on Thursday 18 August you cannot assume that you have achieved the examination results needed to meet the conditional offer. In some instances we may have been able to confirm your place if you have narrowly missed the conditions of your offer.
We strongly advise that you are not away when the publication of results are due. We recommend that you are available to handle discussions about your application rather than relying upon parental or school support. Our Frequently Asked Questions may help with specific queries that you have.
In some cases UCAS do not receive the results from Examination Boards, and you will need to send them directly to us. In this instance you will need to scan and email or fax your results as soon as you can, making sure you include your full name and UCAS Personal ID number. Our contact details.
