After graduation

Exeter is targeted by graduate employers in all sectors so you will be joining a university that offers some of the best employment opportunities in the country.

Your association with the University does not end on Graduation Day. Even after you have graduated we will continue to support you and offer opportunities for further training and you will have access to Career Zone services for three years after graduating.

Alumni networking

The University is in contact with more than 80,000 alumni in more than 170 countries. As a graduate you become a part of this community and can access a range of free benefits for the rest of your life.

The Development and Alumni Relations Office runs an extensive programme of professional networking events and reunions which are held in the UK and around the world. Many of our alumni have had very successful careers and are keen to support today’s students. Recent graduates give many hours to provide career talks, individual mentoring, work placements and practice job interviews to help students.

Graduate Business Partnership (GBP)

The Graduate Business Partnership is a placement scheme for recent graduates. The scheme places graduates with local companies and projects have taken place in a range of areas including: IT and e-commerce; market research; product development; and scientific and environmental research. During your placement you also benefit from a structured training programme run by the University.

Knowledge Transfer Partnerships (KTP)

This Government-run Knowledge Transfer Partnerships scheme helps companies access the knowledge and skills available through a one to three-year research-based partnership involving an academic consultant.

Postgraduate study

Many of our students stay on at Exeter to undertake Masters and PhD study. Visit our Postgraduate Study website to find out what we offer.

Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE)

If you’re interested in a career in teaching, our PGCE programmes offer the perfect next step. We run both Primary and Secondary PGCE programmes and Exeter students studying many of our degree programmes are automatically guaranteed an interview for these providing specific criteria are met.
