Our Open Days

Open Days give you the opportunity to find out more about the University and help you to decide whether Exeter is the right choice for you before you apply. They are packed with opportunities for you to see a range of facilities, meet staff and students, and experience the atmosphere of the University for yourself.

They are a great way to find out more about the campuses, our locations and the degree programmes on offer. These events are informative and varied, and include:

  • subject presentations and sample lectures
  • a tour of the campus and student accommodation
  • general presentations on all aspects of student life
  • the opportunity to talk informally to lecturers in your chosen subject and meet representatives from a range of support services.

Before booking a place at one of the Open Days we strongly recommend that you visit our subject and programme pages to check at which campus your subject is taught, and to see the latest information about our entry requirements.

Open Days at Exeter

The Exeter campuses comprise the Streatham and St Luke’s campuses. These campuses are located in Exeter, close to the city centre.

Travelling by train?

Great Western Trains are currently offering a 20% discount on Advance Purchase tickets to any visitors attending the Exeter Open Days.

Subject presentations

During the day, the University's Colleges will be running subject specific presentations where you can find out more about the course content, meet academic staff and current students and see our first class teaching and research facilities.

You can choose up to two subject areas that you are interested in. Before booking your subject presentations, we recommend that you visit our programme pages for the latest information about programme details and our entry requirements.

In addition to the subject presentations you have booked, there is also the opportunity to visit our Academic Fair, in the Sports Centre, where you can pick up information on other courses you may be interested in and speak to College staff to help you choose the right course for you.

Support services presentations

General presentations, tours of the campus and accommodation and the Academic and Information Fairs will run throughout the day. Everyone can attend and there is no need to pre-book.

Student life

Current students provide a short account of what it is like to be a student at the University of Exeter Penryn Campus. They tell you about their experiences of the academic support and facilities and what they get up to in their spare time both on and off campus. The presentation is delivered by current Student Ambassadors.

Student finance

A member of the FXU Advice Unit gives an overview of student finance and the support available to fund your studies. Topics covered include potential expenditure, the types and amounts of support available, how to apply for student finance, as well as an overview of the additional support offered by the University of Exeter.

Applying to the University of Exeter

This short presentation considers the UCAS undergraduate application process including what we hope are useful tips for completing the application form and explains what the University of Exeter is looking for in your application.

Employability and Graduate Development

The University offers an exceptionally wide range of opportunities for students to become more employable and develop the skills employers want. Employability and Graduate Development provides advice and information about graduate careers and develops new project and placement opportunities for our students.

Accommodation options

The team from our Accommodation Office will give details about the accommodation the University offers undergraduate students, the services we provide and the cost of accommodation. They will also explain how and when to apply for accommodation. 

Offer-Holder Visit Days

If you apply to the University of Exeter and are made an offer of a place to begin your studies in September 2019, you will be invited to either attend for an interview or an Offer-Holder Visit Day.

The Offer-Holder Visit Days take place in February and March 2019 and give prospective students the chance to learn more about their chosen subject and meet current students and teaching staff. Student-led tours of our campuses, sports facilities and accommodation give a real taste of what it would be like to live and study at the University of Exeter.
