Business Manager to the Deputy Vice-Chancellor for (Education)

Jonnie Critchley is Business Manager to the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Education), Professor Tim Quine, and Education Strategy Projects Manager for the Directorate of Education and Student Support (ESS). He provides high-level support across the Education Portfolio, spanning pre-application and fair admissions, including widening participation, through excellent teaching and learning, to graduate-level employment. This involves coordinating the development and implementation of the University’s new Education Strategy, launched in September 2019.

Jonnie also acts as Secretary to groups including the Education Executive and the Student Experience Advisory Board, and maintains close working relationships with the University’s two students’ unions in Exeter and Cornwall.

Jonnie joined the University in January 2014 and has held a number of roles including industry engagement and programme development for the University’s portfolio of degree apprenticeships and, most recently, as Student Recruitment Manager for the College of Engineering, Mathematics and Physical Sciences. Jonnie read English Literature at Lancaster University (BA Hons) and the University of Warwick (MA), and is a member of the Association of University Administrators (AUA).
