Student services and activities on Monday 19 September
On the day of her Majesty Queen Elizabeth the Seconds funeral some services will be operating reduced hours and other closed entirely for the day so that staff and students have the opportunity to pay their respects.
The State Funeral will be available to watch on our campuses, in the Forum Auditorium (Streatham), Baring Court 114 (St Luke’s) and the Exchange Lecture Theatre (Penryn). Most activities will be paused for the duration of the State Funeral.
The following information outlines the opening times for these services and activities.

Sports Park and St Luke's Sports Centre
- Both Sports Park and St Lukes Sports Centre with reduced bank holiday hours of 8am – 7pm.
- Both facilities will close completely during the funeral proceedings, allowing both staff and customers to show their respect to the Queen.
Sports activities
- Sporting activities will only take place between 8- 10.30am and 2.30pm – 7pm. Any activities or bookings falling outside of these times will be cancelled.
- Athletic Union sports club training will be permitted, unless National Governing Body guidance prevents this.
- No club trials will be held.
- Meet and Greets / information stands already booked can go ahead outside of the closure period for the funeral proceedings
- Athletic Union will not authorise any club socials on the 19th September.
Guild (Streatham/ St Luke's) and Students' Union (Penryn)
- Various Guild-led events, activities and information stalls will take place 9-11am and 2:30pm – 8pm.
- Events taking place during the funeral proceedings are being rescheduled and info stalls and receptions will also be closed during this period.
- Society events will be permitted, but we ask to all societies with events during the funeral proceedings to reconsider their timings.
- Students’ Union presidents will be present for students but with reduced bank holiday hours.
