Sustainability
Food and drink
- A new Sustainable Food Policy was introduced in 2014, which aims to promote environmentally and socially responsible procurement practices at all University managed and operated catering outlets at the Streatham and St Luke’s campuses. The policy aims to ensure that, where possible, the University outlets purchase from local suppliers; use seasonal produce; source Red Tractor assured meat and poultry from the UK, and use free range eggs.
- The University met and surpassed goals set by the Fairtrade Policy, achieving the renewal of its Fairtrade University status from 2013-2015. This recognises the University’s commitment to the Fairtrade movement, which is demonstrated by the wide range of Fairtrade products in use and for sale on campus.
