Awards and Achievements
- The University received a First Class Award in the People and Planet University "Green" League, finishing in position 18 out of 154 participating Universities in the U.K.
- In the recent Brite Green report, the University of Exeter performed well against other Russell Group organisations, with the best performance for carbon emissions per FTE student, third for overall carbon reduction against 2005/06 baseline, fourth for carbon emissions per square metre and fourth for carbon emissions per £ Income.
- ISO14001 Environmental Management System certification was maintained.
- The Green Consultants Programme won the international Re-imagine Education Award for Sustainability and the University of Exeter Professional Services Recognition award for Impact. In addition the project was Highly Commended in the 2017 Green Gown Awards employability category.
- The Grounds team secured Green Flag Awards for Exeter Campuses for the 5th year running.
- The Hoopern/Taddiforde valley has now been designated a County Wildlife Site.
- The University was awarded a Silver Gilt Medal in the RHS Britain in Bloom national awards in recognition of its stunning public spaces.
- The Exeter Community Garden received an 'Outstanding' award in the 2016 RHS Britain in Bloom awards.
- University staff came second nationally in the Love to Ride September cycle challenge.
- Fairtrade status was renewed.
