Environment and sustainability research collaborations

Strategic partnerships

We have mature strategic partnerships with the organisations below:

Met Office We are part of the Met Office academic partnership and are building on the successful joint appointments of Met Office staff with further joint positions for leading researchers from the Met Office.
Plymouth Marine Laboratory Recently signed a second Memorandum of Understanding which will facilitate joint appointments, a seed-corn research fund, and the establishment of joint research fellowships. Further appointment will strengthen our joint research capacity.
Centre for Environment, Fisheries and Aquaculture Science (CEFAS) We have signed a Memorandum of Understanding that facilitates lecturing opportunities, student placements and joint research projects. The Environmental Biology group have also undertaken a joint £0.7million research project looking at pollutants in rivers.
Food and Environment Research Agency (FERA) We have co-funded and supervised 20 graduate studentships plus signed a Memorandum of Understanding that will promote the exchange and expertise and knowledge.

To support these partnerships we have ongoing working groups on Food Security and Coastal Futures, with the Met Office and PML, which also bring together researchers from Environment and Sustainability Institute, and the Centre for the Environment and Human Health.
