Car Share Journey Planner
With a significant amount of business travel taking place between the Exeter and Cornwall campuses each year, there is substantial scope to facilitate inter-campus car sharing for business journeys.
The Car Share Journey Planner will enable University of Exeter employees to easily find car share partners to travel on business between the Exeter and Cornwall campuses, and elsewhere.
Key Features
The system features the following:
- Access to the system is via secure sign-in using your University username and password to ensure the website is only used internally;
- The system will automatically load your contact details including name, internal telephone number, mobile number and email address;
- View all the journeys which are taking place in the 'Calendar View' tab and book on to those you wish to share;
- Add your own journey using the 'Add Journey' tab;
- View all the journeys you have organised or booked on to in the 'Your Journeys' section.

Etiquette Guide
To ensure all car sharers have a positive experience, please follow these rules of etiquette when car sharing on business journeys:
- Ensure you are covered by business use as part of your car insurance package;
- Make contact by phone or email with your car share journey driver to arrange specific elements of the journey in advance;
- Establish the ground rules e.g. smoking/non-smoking, music or radio, eating or drinking (etc.);
- Be punctual and courteous. If you expect to be delayed, let your car share partners know in advance;
- As a driver, obey traffic laws and ensure all passengers are wearing seatbelts;
- If you are planning on carrying luggage, let the driver know in advance to ensure space is available.

Please note, at present the Car Share Journey Planner is only available to employees with an @exeter.ac.uk email address. However, access can be granted on request to colleagues from FXPlus. If you have any queries or need help accessing the system, please contact the Sustainability team.
