Supporting skills recognition for employment

Since 2008, Alison has been part of a group developing an assessment tool for mindfulness-based interventions in collaboration with the Universities of Bangor and Oxford. “Students wanted to have… some sort of credibility when they went out into the world, post their training”. “This assessment tool is becoming more widely used within mindfulness-based interventions… and in many ways I think it’s going to then carve the way towards registration and ultimately accreditation processes".

Aim 2: Excellent employment experiences & capabilities
To measure and improve the employability attributes of all students through course, extra-curricular and out-of-term-time activities

What students say:

  • "I appreciate the time you put into the assessment and review process and the written feedback you gave me, which will inspire my learning and my future development".

Accreditation of skills

"This assessment tool is quite widely available so people are starting to be able to look at it and in many ways I think it’s going to then carve the way towards accreditation"
