Engaging large groups of students

"I teach only very large groups, so my smallest group is 260 and my largest group is 600. I teach a difficult subject to make interesting, which is ‘Introduction to Statistics’. Therefore from the very beginning, I always try to find ways to engage students, on the one hand, but also to get some feedback from the students."

Aim 1: Talented, Active, Engaged Students
To increase levels of proactive student engagement with their academic studies

What students say:

  • When asked almost all students agreed unanimously that clickers were a useful learning tool
  • 95% of students also reported that they would like this technology to be used more in lectures

The value of using clickers with large groups

"Clickers for me are something I adopted very early on and it’s been life-changing, for myself and for my students."
