New residences for 2020

We are creating over 1,500 new self-catered student bedrooms at three locations across our Streatham Campus. The new developments, East Park, Moberly and Spreytonway will all be located on campus and are scheduled to open in September 2020 and September 2021. The East Park residence will provide a mix of high-quality en-suite rooms and standard accommodation with a ratio of two students to a bathroom; the Moberly residence will provide standard accommodation with a ratio of two students to a bathroom and Spreytonway residence will have high-quality en-suite rooms. Each of the residences will feature a range of multi-purpose social and study spaces enabling our students to both socialise and study.

East Park, our largest student residence development since 2012, plans to provide 1,182 modern self-catered bedrooms and two laundries on the Streatham Campus. This development is split into two phases, the first phase will be ready in September 2020 and the second phase will be ready from September 2021.

Standard bedrooms

  • 100 standard bedrooms in flats of 10 from September 2020
  • 170 additional standard bedrooms in flats of 10 from September 2021
  • 2:1 bathroom ratio in our standard rooms
  • Standard bedrooms are approximately 9.6m²
  • 4ft bed (small double)
  • Laundry available

En-suite bedrooms‌

  • 504 en-suite bedrooms in flats of 5-8 from September 2020
  • 408 additional en-suite bedrooms in flats of 5-8 from September 2021
  • En-suite bedrooms are approximately 12.7m²
  • 4ft bed (small double)
  • Laundry available

Social spaces include:

  • Study rooms
  • Games room
  • Private/quiet study room
  • Multi-purpose spaces (bookable for societies and clubs)

The original Moberly which was built in 1966 has been knocked down and will be replaced with a high-quality, modern development with 251 standard bedrooms. This will help to fulfil the growing demand from our students for on-campus accommodation at our Streatham Campus.

The redevelopment of the Spreytonway site, will create 131 new en-suite bedrooms situated close to our Lafrowda residential area on the Streatham Campus for postgraduate students.

  • En-suite flats of 7-9 students
  • 40 week contract length
  • Small double beds (four feet wide)
  • Rooms are approximately 15m²
  • 4ft bed (small double)
  • Televisions in shared kitchen/lounge/diner
  • Launderette

Social spaces include:

  • Lounge/study
  • Group study room
  • Multi-purpose space (bookable for societies and clubs)
  • Bookable kitchen/diner
