"I was 'recruited' to Exeter by Vic Ambler who followed me at several tournaments. At the time I was planning on turning professional after A-levels and University golf was an option that I ended up choosing. The R&A bursary and support from Exeter was extremely helpful because it was part of the reason I chose to continue education and competitive golf in tandem. For all the opportunities that were presented to me at Exeter I am very grateful. It was a brilliant and launchpad year in my career for many reasons!

"My year in attendance at Exeter culminated in representing the victorious Great Britain and Ireland Team versus the USA in the Walker Cup 1999 at Nairn in Scotland. When I transferred to Stanford University in California I was proud to achieve 'All American' Scholar and Athlete honours alongside two collegiate tournament wins. In 2000 I qualified to compete in The Open at St. Andrews. During my professional career 2003-2010 I won 4 tournaments on various PGA European golf tours. My fondest memories come from team golf participation and I am proud to have made team representation matched for my home clubs (West Cornwall and Trevose), Cornwall, England, GB&I and Europe. Now I have regained my Amateur Status and still enjoy tournament golf. My job is to manage and coach the UNLV (University of Nevada, Las Vegas) golf team so the journey continues.

"It is rewarding to entrusted with the role of guiding student-athletes toward success in the classroom and on the golf course. In my time coaching, student-athletes with whom I have worked have attained 12 All-American Athlete and 16 All-American Scholar Awards. 5 Walker Cuppers (and counting), 2 World Amateur #1 players (Patrick Rodgers and Maverick McNealy), an NCAA individual champion (Cameron Wilson), 4 Conference Championship winners (Patrick Rodgers, Maverick McNealy, Kurt Kitayama and Shintaro Ban). The most rewarding is to see the progressions over 4 years... for example Shintaro Ban who did not make the traveling team his first semester and ended up 1st Team All American and earned a signing bonus when he turned professional in 2018!"
