Industry Insights careers event for students in Hong Kong
The Exeter Hong Kong Alumni committee kindly organised an Industry Insight event in April, bringing together alumni as well as students who are currently on their year abroad in Hong Kong.
A speed networking session offered attendees the opportunity to meet Adam Broadbent (Business and Accounting 2014), Mike Mathias (Economics and Politics, 1982) and Bob Dhillon (Economics, 1994).
Adam is an entrepreneur who created a sustainable scuba diving travel platform Zublu, Mike is a Client Partner in Financial Services at EY and Bob is Head of Asia Pacific Operational Risk at Morgan Stanley. They discussed how their chosen career path had led them to become experts in their field, and how their time at the University of Exeter had shaped their journey.
The event was held at the LinkedIn office in Hong Kong. Adrienne Faessler, Enterprise Relationship Manager at LinkedIn, advised on tops tips for how best to use LinkedIn for networking opportunities, and highlighted growing use of the social media platform for recruitment purposes.
