Alumni volunteers supporting current students

In the field of Medical Sales, Tricia Nguyen and Harriet Wilson gave a seminar outlining their roles and responsibilities and the decisions that led them to pursue careers in this dynamic and varied field.  Most excitingly, they unveiled two short-term internship opportunities within the two sister companies for which they work, open exclusively to final year students in Medical Sciences and SEMS, with the potential for an offer of employment to be made on completion.

Following this, four alumni from engaged in a panel discussion, with real-time questions being taken from the audience via Padlet - technology-enhanced learning in action. Alumni Fern Gibbon (Physician Associate training), Mark Graham (PhD) and Goldie Osei and Taylor Lawrence, representing the medical communications career route through direct graduate employment and graduate schemes respectively.  All four enthused about their degree and the opportunities provided during their studies, with PTYs, internships and the small group learning receiving particular praise for preparing them for the working environment. 106 students attended the two events and said they relished the opportunity to hear from former graduates.
