The Shanghai event

Volunteers share “Industry Insights” across China

Three employability events took place in China during April 2019 with thanks to the volunteer network group, Exeter China Alumni Association (ECAA)

More than 120 alumni attended events across three cities (Beijing, Shanghai and Shenzhen), which involved presentations from 16 alumni from different industries about their careers since graduation, followed by in-depth discussion and Q&A. These events help fulfil the ECAA’s objective of helping to inspire graduate careers and provide networking opportunities.

The Exeter China Alumni Association (ECAA) is an alumni network group which was started in 2012 by Country Contact alumni ambassador for mainland China, Wenjie Li (MSc Accounting and Finance 2012). ECAA is made up of committee members who give their time to support various activities, from the organisation of large alumni networking events, employability and social activities, to individual support of student recruitment events.

Mainland China has the largest population of Exeter alumni outside of the UK, with currently over 6500 alumni. Thanks to the support of alumni volunteers in China, the engagement of other alumni, students and potential students in China have increased significantly over the past academic year.

ECAA are active across a number of social media channels and you can connect with alumni via WeChat (search for “UniofExeter” in public accounts) and Weibo, or join the LinkedIn group.

If you would like to volunteer to support alumni in China, please register your interest, or email: alumni@exeter.ac.uk
