Important notification regarding the data the University of Exeter holds about you
We were informed at the end of last week that Blackbaud has been the victim of a ransomware attack. The University of Exeter uses Blackbaud systems to hold the data of our alumni and supporters and we understand that historic backup files were accessed.
Blackbaud have undertaken their own investigation into the incident and have worked with US law enforcement and third-party cyber security experts. Blackbaud have confirmed to us that no encrypted information, regarding bank details, credit card information or passwords has been compromised. We believe this incident may have included personal data such as name gender, date of birth, email etc. Since we were notified of the breach by Blackbaud relevant departments have been working closely with them to identify the full extent of the risk to your data.
