Volunteers' Week

Volunteers' Week is an annual national celebration of the fantastic contribution millions of volunteers make throughout the UK. In recognition of the great volunteer work taken on by hundreds of the University's alumni each year (nearly 1000 last academic year), we are celebrating with a showcase of volunteer stories which we hope will inspire you.

Thank you to all of our volunteers for your gift of time, you make a difference every day!

Exceptional volunteers

We are lucky to receive support from a wonderful group of volunteers, who help across a wide range of programmes. Some support career development, others run our groups and networks around the world, and some host our alumni events. We are grateful for each and every contribution.

Exceptional experiences

Everyone can feel the benefit of volunteering. Our students feed back that they enjoy learning from experienced professionals in their field, and the volunteers themselves say they enjoy being part of others' future success.

Exceptional impact

Volunteering has a really positive impact across the University. For example career mentoring has been shown to significantly increase the chances of students going straight into a graduate level job upon leaving Exeter, while strategic developments at the University are often supported by volunteer board members.
