We have worked with the Met Office for years on the development of prediction models to inform climate change projections. Our strategic partnership has resulted in the Joint Centre for Excellence in Environmental Intelligence, bringing together world-leading researchers to utilise data science and artificial intelligence to transform our understanding of the natural environment and develop solutions to real-world challenges. 

Exeter is also one of the Universities in the Met Office’s Academic Partnership Network which draws together world-class expertise around a focused programme of joint research to tackle key challenges in weather and climate science and prediction. The Partnership drives collaboration on key areas of science with the goal of bringing substantial benefits in terms of the advancement of the science and services.
