Fees and Funding

In most cases there is no additional cost to undertaking a placement module or programme except in the case of yearlong programmes where student fees are payable for the year that you will be undertaking the placement itself, generally your third year. This is usually no more than 20% of your normal annual student fee and you may be able to access a student loan for this.

Please ensure you check your college’s webpages for the placement module or programme that you wish to undertake or contact the Student Information Desk (SID) for help with queries related to fees and loans.

You may also be eligible for a higher value student loan if you are undertaking an unpaid yearlong placement. Student Finance may ask for a letter from the University which evidences your year in industry and confirms the pay you will receive over the year. Please contact your HUBS team in the first instance for this letter.

Turing Funding

The Turing Scheme is the UK government's programme to provide funding for international opportunities in education and training across the world. If you are interested in working abroad, further information about this funding (including eligibility) can be found on the Global Opportunities - Outbound SharePoint.
