Celtic Evening Prayer

Date: Every Monday, commencing Monday 23rd November 2020

Location: Online via Zoom*
Open to: All students and staff

This ecumenical service is led by the Anglican Lay Chaplain, Elly Moseley, using the Northumbria community liturgy for evening prayer.

This service was filmed in the Mary Harris Memorial Chapel on Streatham Campus, Exeter, before England went into lockdown on 5th November, in preparation for Remembrance Sunday (8th November 2020). It was socially distanced, risk assessed and supervised by University staff to make sure it complied with the Covid-19 guidelines in place at the time.

The service is led by the Rev'd Cannon James Mustard, Canon Precentor at Exeter Cathedral and an alumnus of the University.

The service includes:

  • a reading of names of the students and alumni who have died in conflict
  • the laying of wreaths
  • prayers and poetry
