"The High Performance Programme at Exeter is fittingly supportive"
"The University of Exeter is a community of outstanding academic and extra curricular opportunities. This, coupled with the inclusive and approachable environment that the university fostered on the open day was the reason that I chose to study at Exeter. Since starting here, I have been incapable of forgetting this fantastic blend of academic and sporting societies, the ever-growing list of opportunities and the constant support towards further achievement. For me, the High Performance Programme at Exeter is fittingly supportive; each week I have the opportunity to attend tailored strength and conditioning sessions with my high performance coach, and meet with my mentor to discuss goal setting, progress and any concerns that may arise. I really believe I couldn’t have found a better university that gets the balance between study and supporting me in my sport right"
"Although its sometimes tricky to balance sport and academics, the support network on both sides is excellent"
"Exeter has allowed me to balance both my academics and my sport so that I can perform to the best of my ability in both. The high level coaching and facilities were what drew me to the university, providing both hockey specific and gym based work to constantly improve and monitor progress. This combination as well as the high performance network have enabled me to push for international selection over the summer, being picked for the England U21 team to the European Championships in Valencia. For me, the accessibility and closeness of the hockey club as a whole has been one of the best things about joining Exeter. The support from the club has definitely helped me progress personally and as a first team, on a Wednesday afternoon for Varsity with the whole club out watching is something that is rare to come across in a hockey environment. Although its sometimes tricky to balance sport and academics, the support network on both sides is excellent from the high performance team to personal tutors and mentors. Academically the rigorousness and quality of the course definitely was a key factor for why I chose Exeter as well as the modern business school and welcoming campus feel."
