We have been praised by both the local authority and Public Health England on our approach to the pandemic

How the University supported me during COVID-19...

The pandemic is obviously a difficult situation for everyone, but it’s so clear to me, and other students, how hard our teachers are working to support us now. I did have in-person teaching in first term, and that was really good and felt really safe. We were all in a big lecture theatre spaced away from each other and the windows were open, so it was nice to have that blended with online learning.

My lecturers were very supportive of me flying back home before term ended to be safe with my family, and gave me extensions on my deadlines. There was also great provision of welfare and financial services for those in unfortunate circumstances.

I think the University has done everything they realistically could have given the circumstances. I know that there are people there if I reach out, and there are opportunities to do that. They are also very good at signposting to mental health services or if you need financial support if your laptop breaks for example.
