Smartline shortlisted for the Housing Heroes Awards 2022

Ground-breaking Cornwall-based research project Smartline and Coastline housing have been shortlisted for the Housing Heroes Award 2022 the under the ‘Best company health and wellbeing initiative category’.

Smartline is funded by the European Union and is a research and innovation project exploring the relationship between technology and the way people live in their homes and communities, which has been running since 2017 in Camborne, Illogan, Pool and Redruth, Cornwall UK.

Mark England, Head of Innovation, Maintenance and Group Procurement at Coastline Housing, said: “We are incredibly proud to be a part of such an innovative and ground-breaking research project. Early research on the link between housing, technology and health that’s come about as part of the project so far is already improving lives and having an impact on the way we plan for the future. It’s exciting to be at the forefront of something like this and it will mean many positive benefits for our current and future customers as we move forward in this area.”

Associate Professor Emma Bland, Smartline Principal Investigator from the University of Exeter, said: “We are delighted that Coastline Housing and the Smartline Project have been shortlisted for the Housing Hero Awards 2022. Housing Heroes Award 2022

The Housing Heroes Awards 2022 said: “This award seeks to recognise the contribution of individuals or teams from individual social landlords to the health and wellbeing of tenants and residents. If the last 2 years have taught us anything, it is the vital role that housing and support plays in the health of our communities. From work with the health service, to work tackling food or fuel poverty, or to improve mental health, we want to flag outstanding work from across the sector”.

The Housing Heroes Award 2022 will take place on 27th June 2022 at the Exchange Hall, Manchester Central Convention Complex, Petersfield, M2 3GX. The Housing Heroes award is sponsored by Aico
