Our Centre research fellows are working in engaged and transdisciplinary ways to explore ways to sustain cultures and environments of health.
Dr Lara Choksey
Research Interests: Postgenomic Environments: a project which brings literary and cultural studies approaches to questions of health, care, community, and environment in the genomic and postgenomic eras, as well as looking at uses of precision genomic medicine locally, nationally, and globally.
Research Interests: health inequalities in low-income communities
Dr Charlotte Jones
Research interests: gender, sexuality, disability and health, and particularly the intersections of these areas.
Dr Branwyn Poleykett
Research Interests: NCDs (non-communicable diseases); diet and eating; urban health.
Branwyn is a medical anthropologist working on the emergence of cardiovascular diseases in the West African city of Dakar. Rooted in ethnographic methods, her research examines the impact of what Dakarois often call “new diseases” on the ways that people shop, eat, cook, care for and nourish their families.
