The Deans' Office

The Deans' Office manages all matters relating to the Deans for Taught Programmes and Postgraduate Research.

The Dean for Taught Students is Professor Rob Freathy.

The Associate Dean for Taught Students is Mr Oliver Young.

The Assocaite Dean for Taught Studens (Racial Equality and Inclusion) is Professor Vrinda Nayak.

The Dean for Taught Students has responsibility for leading and representing the business of the Education Board. The Dean and Associate Dean have close working relations with the Education Policy Unit with whom they collaborate in formulating strategies and developing programmes and procedures that support the principal teaching activities of the University. Direct input to student matters is a further feature of their work, particularly in the context of student progression and academic appeals. They also have a major role to play in monitoring academic standards, through the review of the reports of external examiners and consequent action. The Dean and Associate Deans are members of many of the significant committees of the University.

The position of PA to the Dean and Associate Deans for Taught Students is currently vacant.

The Dean for Postgraduate Research is Professor Andrew McRae.
