Research Ethics
Ethical standards, alongside wider legal obligations, ensure the quality and integrity of our research. We support a research environment that fosters the highest standards of scientific, scholarly and professional integrity, and where appropriate legal and regulatory requirements can be met. We nurture a research culture that enables best research practice and supports researcher development.
All studies involving humans or animals, their tissue or data, requires research ethics review. The Research Ethics and Governance Team facilitate the ethics review process and support University Research Ethics Committees. They provide researchers with advice and guidance to meet ethical, institutional and legal standards. The team assist researchers in line with our Research Ethics Framework and Code of Good Practice in the Conduct of Research.
