Nikki Archer

I work in the Research, Innovation, Learning and Development building based at the RD&E Wonford site.

RILD is a state-of-the-art building in partnership between the University of Exeter Medical School and the Royal Devon and Exeter NHS Foundation Trust (RD&E), and is part-funded by the Wellcome Trust and the Wolfson Foundation. The building enables the medical research process to be streamlined, ensuring clinical science is focused on where it is most needed within healthcare. Patient studies, laboratory studies and then education of health care professionals of new findings all occur in a single building.

I am PA to Noel Morgan, Director, Institute of Biomedical and Clinical Science. The Institute's research delivers direct benefit to patients, the NHS and the pharmaceutical industry. The Institute's aim is to understand the underlying molecular and genetic basis of disease and to apply this knowledge in innovative ways that lead to improved treatment and a better quality of life for patients.

The Medical School's researchers and clinicians work closely together to ensure that our research is directly targeted to clinical need.

I carry out general PA duties as you’d expect in line with the rest of the University; I also work as part of the RILD team of administrator whose roles are uniquely complicated by diconstantly managing UoE/NHS issues and trying to develop a mutually supportive working environment for everyone.

I line manage the administration within Hatherley as well as organising and offering administration for several unique projects within IBCS, such as Men In White.
