07.10.2011 MED-DEM conference date announced

MED- DEM, a conference on democratic development in the Mediterranean is confirmed as taking place in Alicante, Spain on 8-10 March 2012.

08.09.2011 The Institute for European Studies - Invitation to join an EU Webinar Series

The Educational Development Unit (EDU) of the IES proudly presents its innovative EU Webinar Series aimed at bringing live and interactive EU learning to the personal computer.  Beginning in September 2011, they will be offering a webinars on a diverse range of EU topics including; State-aid, Data Protection in the EU, and EU-China Relations.

30.08.2011 Vacancy - research fellowship in Sciences Po Paris

The CDSP, a databank and research centre from Sciences Po Paris, seeks to hire a research fellow for 3 years to work on a major project on qualitative data, subsidised within a "big equipment for social sciences" framework.

14.07.2011 Seminars announced at Exeter with John Transue and Peter Hatemi

Two seminars, sponsored by the ELECDEM project, have been organised by the University of Exeter during the EPOP 2011 conference.  Dr John Transue and A/Prof Peter Hatemi will present papers over the conference period.

11.07.2011 Call for papers - 1st European Conference on Comparative Electoral Research

Papers can be submitted by email until 8 September 2011.  A number of grants towards travel and accommodation costs will be available to authors selected to present a paper.

24.06.2011 Call for papers - Workshop on Issue-Congruence and Political Communication in Representative Democracies

Papers will be accepted until 1 August 2011.

22.06.2011 AREMSIS training courses in research methodology from qualitative and quantitative perspectives

The Graduate Summer School in Advanced Research Methods and Statistics in Social Sciences (AREMSIS) aims to provide graduate level training for MA and PhD students, and post-doc researchers.  The courses are offered between 11- 29 July 2011 at Koç University.

10.06.2011 ELECDEM fellows present papers at the 1st Annual EPSA Conference

The first conference of the European Political Science Association (EPSA) was held in Dublin, Ireland on 16 - 18 June 2011.  Amoung the presenters were six of the ELECDEM project early stage researchers. 

10.06.2011 Marie Curie Researchers Symposium - forthcoming conference

The Marie Curie Researchers Symposium will be held in Warsaw on 25 - 27 September 2011.  The event will be a great opportunity for current and past Marie Curie researchers to broaden their career perspectives, communicate their research, develop new scientific collaborations and further exploit their potential as Marie Curie fellows. 

31.03.2011 Content Analysis workshop slides now online

Powerpoint slides presented by Kenneth Benoit (Trinity College Dublin), Rachel Gibson (University of Manchester) and Peter Neijens (University of Amsterdam, ASCoR) are now available online.  The ELECDEM workshop in Advanced Techniques for Political Communication Research: Content Analysis was held in Amsterdam on 20 - 24 March 2011.

The ‎Oslo Summer School in Comparative Social Science Studies 2011 will offer courses from 25 - 29 July and 1 - 5 August 2011.  This event is sponsored by the ELECDEM project.

The ‎7th CEU Conference in Social Sciences “What Follows after the Crisis? Approaches to Global Transformations” will be held at the Central European University (CEU), Budapest on 27 - 29 May 2011.
