IPDM - Finance & Business Risk
Innovation Centre Phase 2
Innovation Centre Phase 2, University of Exeter, Rennes Drive, Exeter, EX4 4RN, UK
I connect Financial Services (FS) firms to the University of Exeter to solve complex, cutting-edge, challenges and to create business resilience and growth opportunities.
My primary focus is on the translation and practical application of Climate and Environmental science to improve the resilience and growth prospects of the FS industry. FS partners can draw upon the wealth of world-leading academic expertise and industry experience across the entire institution to support their efforts in responding to the Climate Emergency. Examples of collaboration outputs, include:
- Enhancing firm-wide ESG/Sustainability policy and strategy, underpinned by robust scientific evidence;
- Integrating physical and transition risk into risk management and asset allocation decisions;
- Developing in-house analytics applications and new ESG/Sustainability (Impact) financial products;
- Delivering improved ESG/Sustainability disclosures;
- Receiving bespoke climate change research content.
Other areas of focus include: FS Digital Transformation, Circular Economy/Finance, and Tax Authority Collaboration.
I am fortunate to work with a wider team of professionals who manage strategic alliances, contract education programmes, spin-outs, licensing and economic development, as well as major innovation initiatives such as the Exeter Science Park and SETsquared (recognised as the World's number one University Business Incubator).
Prior to joining the University of Exeter I spent twelve years in the Financial Services industry with HSBC Bank. I bring extensive experience of Strategic Development and Business Management activities across Retail, Commercial, Wealth Management and Private Banking units. In my last role with HSBC, I was responsible for design and delivery of the Digital Banking proposition for HSBC’s Global Private Bank.
I am contactable Tuesday-Friday on 07453323375.
