Impact and Partnership Development Manager - AI in Society
Innovation Centre, University of Exeter, Rennes Drive, Exeter, EX4 4RN, UK
I am Exeter's Impact and Partnership Development Manager for AI in Society, supporting and developing projects which apply data science and AI to challenges in the health sector, urban environment and society. I am based in the University of Exeter’s Innovation, Impact and Business team, where I work closely with academics across the Institution. A big focus of my role is helping to connect businesses with the right research expertise to support their innovation needs, and develop research commercialisation, collaborative research opportunities with external partners, and the non-academic impact of Exeter’s research.
Following completion of my degree in Sociology at the University of Birmingham, Kitty joined the University in 2014 as an Equality and Diversity Project Officer in the College of Life and Environmental Sciences. I maintain a keen interest in evidence and data-based policy analysis, implementation and impact review, to support Equality, Diversity and Inclusivity in the workplace. I became the University’s Senior Equality, Diversity and Inclusivity Advisor in 2017. During this role I led the University’s institutional Athena SWAN consultation and application preparation with a team of Equality, Diversity and Inclusivity Advisors, and Academic and PS Inclusivity Representatives. This project involved extensive data gathering, visualisation and policy and process review, to form the basis of the University’s four-year long Athena SWAN action plan.
I am a huge fan of the great outdoors, and can often be found mountain biking on Haldon Hill, Kayaking around the beautiful Jurassic coast, or running around campus.
