0.8FTE - Normal hours are 9am - 5pm, Monday. Tuesday, Thursday and Friday

Overview

Mark joined the SETsquared Exeter IKEEP project team in October 2020 as the Reporting and Finance Officer.

The IKEEP project is being delivered by four of the SETsquared partners (Universities of Bath, Bristol and Surrey) to deliver a knowledge exchange programme between students and local businesses and organisations.  The project is funded by Research England and Office for Students and runs for two years

PGD Computer Based Information Systems, University of Sunderland

Career

Mark started his full-time carreer in 1992, as a temp on the Thames Water Utilities Ltd call centre, working his way into the Business Analysis team and on to the Free Meters Project.  After 5 years at Thames, Mark left to work as a Project Engineer at Westinghouse Brakes for 12 months, on the Postal Sorting Equipment project with Siemens, before Joining BBSRC in 1998.

Mark worked within the various Research Councils for 20 years, starting out as a Business Analyst and finishing as the Head of IT for MRC.  Mark worked on a wide range of activities including cross council projects, developed corporate MI solutions, worked with BEIS as the Research Council's Business System Architect and finally set up and ran the Medical Research Council's Business Analysis Team before taking on the role of Head of IT

Mark resigned in November 2019, relocating to Exeter in December in search of a better quality of life and joined the University of Exeter in October 2020
