MATLAB / Simulink

MATLAB is a high-level language and interactive environment that enables you to perform computationally intensive tasks faster than with traditional programming languages such as C, C++ and Fortran.

You can use MATLAB in a wide variety of applications, including signal and image processing, communications, control design, test and measurement, financial modelling and analysis, and computational biology. Add-on toolboxes (collections of special-purpose MATLAB functions) extend the MATLAB environment to solve particular classes of problems in these application areas.

MATLAB provides a number of features for documenting and sharing your work. You can integrate your MATLAB code with other languages and applications, and distribute your MATLAB algorithms and applications.

The University site licence currently supports up to and including v2017a and includes all Matlab/Simulink Toolboxes. See https://uk.mathworks.com/products.html?s_tid=srchtitle for more information.

A comprehensive selection of video and training material can be accessed from the MathWorks website. Additional information for instructors and researchers can be accessed from the MathWorks TAH Resource Kit.

MATLAB / Simulink is covered by the Total Academic Headcount (TAH) site licence. Our annual Matlab Site License is paid for by the three participating Colleges: EMPS, CLES and the Business School. It can be installed on both University-owned and privately-owned PCs.
