What is AccEPT?

Important Service Update

The following information, is an update on our current funding situation.

As it stands, the AccEPT Clinic is uncertain about its funding position, but expects to have an update after the end of March 2023. As such, unfortunately we are not able to schedule any future MBCT groups at this time which in turn means we are not currently accepting referrals for MBCT-D or MBCT-L.

As soon as we know more we will update our page with more information.  We do apologise for the uncertainty that this may bring.

The AccEPT Clinic provides evidence based psychological therapies to adults in the community who experience severe or recurrent mood disorders. The clinic is hosted by the University of Exeter, and funded by the NHS. Our mission is to develop, test and make accessible effective treatments for depression and other mood disorders. We are based in the Sir Henry Wellcome Mood Disorders Research Centre, a building designed and maintained to provide a pleasant, state-of-the art therapy centre.
As well as working with GP practices in and around Devon we also work in close partnership with other NHS Services including Talkworks and Mental Wellbeing and Access Teams.

AccEPT has a group of people who have received our treatments and who contribute to the continual improvement of the service (Friends of AccEPT). They work in partnership with the University of Exeter Lived Experience Group. They help shape our service including research projects, our strategy and the day to day running of the clinic.

We have been providing services for people in the Exeter, East and Mid Devon area since June 2008, and in North Devon since 2011 and are funded by the NHS Devon Clinical Commissioning Group, more commonly known as the Devon CCG.
