Health and Safety Management

According to the H&S law – “All workers have a right to work in places where risks to their health and safety are properly controlled. Health and safety is about stopping you getting hurt at work or ill through work. Your employer is responsible for health and safety, but you must help”.

In accordance with the Health and Safety Management Safety Standard see the link below to the Technical Services Local H&S document:

Guidance

To ensure all parts of the University follow the correct procedures and meet the same standards of safety, the University has developed a number of safety standards, which are regularly reviewed. Ensure you are familiar with all of the relevant standards in your area of work.

Environmental sustainability

The University has an Environmental Sustainability Policy agreed by the University Executive Board. The policy outlines the University’s environmental objectives and provides a clear commitment to comply with relevant environmental legislation, regulations and other requirements.

What to do in an emergency

Dealing with emergencies is fortunately a rare event, but if you suddenly find yourself having to act then your speed and quick thinking can literally save lives.

As soon as possible after the event send a completed Accident/near miss report form to safety@exeter.ac.uk ccing in your relevant Faculty Partner.
